MAXIM MX7575/7576 Manual

MX7575/MX7576 are high-speed (5µs/10µs), microprocessor (µP) compatible, 8-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). MX7575 provides an on-chip track/hold function that allows accurate acquisition and digitization of full-scale signals up to 50kHz (386mV/µs slew rate). Both ADCs use a successive-approximation technique to achieve fast conversions and low power dissipation. MX7575/MX7576 operate with a +5V supply and a 1.23V external reference. They accept input voltages ranging from 0V to 2VREF. MX7575/MX7576 are easily interfaced to all popular 8-bit µPs through standard CS and RD control signals. These signals control conversion start and data access. A BUSY signal indicates the beginning and end of a conversion. Since all the data outputs are latched and three-state buffered, MX7575/MX7576 can be directly connected to a µP data bus or system I/O port. Maxim also makes MAX165, a plug-in replacement for MX7575 with an internal 1.23V reference. For applications that require a differential analog input and an internal reference, MAX166 is recommended.

MAXIM MAX630/4193 Manual

The MAX630 and MAX4193 are CMOS DC-DC regulators designed for simple, efficient, minimum-size DC-DC converter circuits in the 5mW to 5W range. The MAX630 and MAX4193 provide all control and power handling functions in a compact 8-pin package: a 1.31V bandgap reference, an oscillator, a voltage comparator, and a 375mA N-channel output MOSFET. A comparator is also provided for low-battery detection. Operating current is only 70µA and is nearly independent of output switch current or duty cycle. A logic-level input shuts down the regulator to less than 1µA quiescent current. Low-current operation ensures high efficiency even in low-power battery-operated systems. The MAX630 and MAX4193 are compatible with most battery voltages, operating from 2.0V to 16.5V. The devices are pin compatible with the Raytheon bipolar circuits, RC4191/2/3, while providing significantly improved efficiency and low-voltage operation. Maxim also manufactures the MAX631, MAX632, and MAX633 DC-DC converters, which reduce the external component count in fixed-output 5V, 12V, and 15V circuits. See Table 2 at the end of this data sheet for a summary of other Maxim DC-DC converters.

MAXIM MAX761/762 Manual

MAX761/MAX762 are high-efficiency step-up switching regulators that deliver up to 150mA of output current. They use a unique current-limited pulse-frequency-modulated (PFM) control scheme that gives the devices the benefits of pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters (high efficiency with heavy loads), while using less than 110µA of supply current (vs. 2mA to 10mA for PWM converters). The result is high efficiency over a wide range of loads.

MAXIM MAX767 Manual

The MAX767 is a high-efficiency, synchronous buck controller IC dedicated to converting a fixed 5V supply into a tightly regulated 3.3V output. Two key features set this device apart from similar, low-voltage step-down switching regulators: high operating frequency and all N-channel construction in the application circuit. The 300kHz operating frequency results in very small, low-cost external surface-mount components. The inductor, at 3.3µH for 5A, is physically at least five times smaller than inductors found in competing solutions. All N-channel construction and synchronous rectification result in reduced cost and highest efficiency. Efficiency exceeds 90% over a wide range of loading, eliminating the need for heatsinking. Output capacitance requirements are low, reducing board space and cost. The MAX767 is a monolithic BiCMOS IC available in 20-pin SSOP packages. For other fixed output voltages and package options, please consult the factory.

MAXIM DS80C310 Manual

The DS80C310 is a high-performance 80C31/80C32 compatible microcontroller. It features a redesigned processor core that eliminates wasted clock and memory cycles. As a result, it executes every 8051 instruction between 1.5x and 3x faster than the original architecture for the same crystal speed. Typical applications have a speed improvement of 2.5x using the same code and the same crystal. The DS80C310 offers a 25MHz maximum crystal speed, resulting in apparent execution speeds of 62.5MHz (approximately 2.5x). The DS80C310 is pin compatible with the standard 80C32 and includes standard resources such as three timer/counters, 256 bytes of RAM, and a serial port. It also provides dual data pointers (DPTRs) to speed block data memory moves. It also can adjust the speed of MOVX data memory access between two and nine machine cycles for flexibility in selecting external memory and peripherals. The DS80C310 offers upward compatibility with the DS80C320.

MAXIM MAX730A/MAX738A/MAX744A Manual

MAX730A/MAX738A/MAX744A are 5V output CMOS step-down switching regulators. The MAX738A/ MAX744A accept inputs from 6V to 16V and deliver 750mA. The MAX744A guarantees 500mA load capability for inputs above 6V and has tighter oscillator frequency limits for low-noise (radio) applications. The MAX730A accepts inputs between 5.2V and 11V and delivers 450mA for inputs above 6V. Typical efficien- cies are 85% to 96%. Quiescent supply current is 1.7mA and only 6µA in shutdown. Pulse-width modulation (PWM) current-mode control provides precise output regulation and excellent tran- sient responses. Output voltage accuracy is guaran- teed to be ±5% over line, load, and temperature varia- tions. Fixed-frequency switching allows easy filtering of output ripple and noise, as well as the use of small external components. These regulators require only a single inductor value to work in most applications, so no inductor design is necessary. The MAX730A/MAX738A/MAX744A also feature cycle- by-cycle current limiting, overcurrent limiting, undervolt- age lockout, and programmable soft-start protection.

MAXIM MX7824/MX7828 Manual

The MAX154/MAX158 and MX7824/MX7828 are high-speed, multi-channel analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The MAX154 and MX7824 have four analog input channels, while the MAX158 and MX7828 have eight channels. Conversion time for all devices is 2.5µs. The MAX154/MAX158 also feature a 2.5V on-chip reference, forming a complete high-speed data acquisition system. All four converters include a built-in track/hold, eliminating the need for an external track/hold with many input signals. The analog input range is 0V to +5V, although the ADC operates from a single +5V supply. Microprocessor interfaces are simplified by the ADC’s ability to appear as a memory location or I/O port without the need for external logic. The data outputs use latched, three-state buffer circuitry to allow direct connection to a microprocessor data bus or system input port. The MX7824 and MX7828 are pin compatible with Analog Devices’ AD7824 and AD7828. The MAX154 and MAX158, which feature internal references, are also compatible with these products.
