National semiconductor LM221/LM321 Precision Preamplifiers handbook

The LM221 series is a precision preamplifier designed to operate with general purpose operational amplifiers to drastically decrease dc errors, drift, bias current, common mode, and supply rejection are more than a factor of 50 better than standard op amps alone. Furthermore, the added dc gain of the LM221 decreases the closed loop gain error. The LM221 series operates with supply voltages from 3V to 20V and has sufficient supply rejection to operate from unregulated supplies. The operating current is programmable from 5 mA to 200 mA so bias current, offset current, gain, and noise can be optimized for the particular application while still realizing very low drift. Super-gain transistors are used for the input stage so input error currents are lower than conventional amplifiers at the same operating current. Furthermore, the initial offset voltage is easily nulled to zero. The extremely low drift of the LM221 will improve accuracy on almost any precision dc circuit. For example, instrumentation amplifier, strain gauge amplifiers, and thermocouple amplifiers now using chopper amplifiers can be made with the LM221. The full differential input and high common-mode rejection are another advantage over choppers. For applications where low bias current is more important than drift, the operating current can be reduced to low values. High operating currents can be used.

National semiconductor LM2202 230 MHz Video Amplifier System handbook

LM2202 is a very high frequency video amplifier system intended for use in high resolution monochrome or RGB color monitor applications. In addition to the wideband video amplifier, the LM2202 contains a gated differential input black level clamp comparator for brightness control, a DC controlled attenuator for contrast control and a DC controlled sub contrast attenuator for drive control. The DC control for the contrast attenuator is pinned out separately to provide a more accurate control system for RGB color monitor applications. All DC controls offer a high input impedance and operate over a 0V to 4V range for easy interface to bus controlled alignment systems. The LM2202 operates from a nominal 12V supply but can be operated with supply voltages down to 8V for applications that require reduced IC package power dissipation characteristics.

National Semiconductor LM118/LM218/LM318 Operational Amplifiers handbook

The LM118/LM218/LM318 precision high speed operational amplifiers are designed for applications requiring wide bandwidth and high slew rate. They feature a factor of ten increase in speed over general purpose devices without sacrificing DC performance. The LM118 series has internal unity gain frequency compensation. This considerably simplifies its application since no external components are necessary for operation. However, unlike most internally compensated amplifiers, external fre- quency compensation may be added for optimum perfor- mance. For inverting applications, feedforward compensa- tion will boost the slew rate to over 150V/µs and almost double the bandwidth. Overcompensation can be used with the amplifier for greater stability when maximum bandwidth is not needed. Further, a single capacitor can be added to reduce the 0.1% settling time to under 1 µs. The high speed and fast settling time of these op amps make them useful in A/D converters, oscillators, active filters, sample and hold circuits, or general purpose amplifiers. These devices are easy to apply and offer an order of magnitude better AC performance than industry standards such as the LM709. The LM218 is identical to the LM118 except that the LM218 has its performance specified over a −25˚C to +85˚C tem- perature range. The LM318 is specified from 0˚C to +70˚C.

National DS90CP22 handbook

DS90CP22 is a 2x2 crosspoint switch utilizing LVDS technology for low power, high speed operation. Data paths are fully differential from input to output for low noise generation and low pulse width distortion. The non-blocking design allows connection of any input to any output or outputs. LVDS I/O enable high speed data transmission for point-to-point interconnects. This device can be used as a high speed differential crosspoint, 2:1 mux, 1:2 demux, repeater or 1:2 signal splitter. The mux and demux functions are useful for switching between primary and backup circuits in fault tolerant systems. The 1:2 signal splitter and 2:1 mux functions are useful for distribution of serial bus across several rack-mounted backplanes.

National DS90CP04 handbook

The DS90CP04 is a 4×4 digital crosspoint switch that uses low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) technology to achieve low power consumption and high speed operation. The data path is all composed of differential circuits to suppress noise. Non-blocking architecture allows connection of any input bit to any output bit (single output or multiple outputs). The switch matrix contains 4 sets of differential 4:1 multiplexers. Each multiplexer is connected to all 4 input channels and can output any 1 input channel from any output channel. Each output pair of DS90CP04 can operate independently at up to 2.5Gbit/s. The MODE pin is used to switch between the easy-to-control serial control interface or the configuration selection port. The serial control interface can use a single load command to update the new switch configuration information for all outputs at one time. The direct configuration port can directly change the output configuration based on the logic level decoded information of the SEL0/1 pins.
