The TS3USB221A is a high-bandwidth switch specially designed for the switching of high-speed USB 2.0 signals in handset and consumer applications, such as cell phones, digital cameras, and notebooks with hubs or controllers with limited USB I/Os. The wide bandwidth (900 MHz) of this switch allows signals to pass with minimum edge and phase distortion. The device multiplexes differential outputs from a USB host device to one of two corresponding outputs. The switch is bidirectional and offers little or no attenuation of the high-speed signals at the outputs. It is designed for low-power mode when OE is disabled (1 µA), with a maximum rON of 6 Ω, typical ΔrON of 0.2 Ω, typical Cio(on) of 6 pF, and maximum power consumption of 30 µA. It has high bandwidth (typical 900 MHz), latch-up performance exceeding 100 mA per JESD 78 Class II, and ESD performance tested per JESD 22 (7000V human-body model, 1000V charged-device model).

The TPS75003 is a triple-supply power management IC from Texas Instruments (TI) that integrates two 95% efficient 3A buck controllers and one 300mA LDO to provide a complete power management solution for FPGAs, DSPs, and other multi-supply applications. The device has been tested with and meets all of the Xilinx Spartan-3, Spartan-3E and Spartan-3L start-up profile requirements, including monotonic voltage ramp and minimum voltage rail rise time. Independent Enables for each output allow sequencing to minimize demand on the power supply at start-up. Soft-start on each supply limits inrush current during start-up. Two integrated buck controllers allow efficient, cost-effective voltage conversion for both low and high current supplies such as core and I/O. A 300mA LDO is integrated to provide an auxiliary rail such as VCCAUX on the Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA. All three supply voltages are offered in fixed voltage output configurations to enhance design flexibility.

The TPS2041 and the TPS2051 are 135-mΩ N-channel MOSFET high-side power switches. Each switch is controlled by a logic enable compatible with 5-V and 3-V logic. Gate drive is provided by an internal charge pump that controls the power-switch rise times and fall times to minimize current surges during switching. The charge pump requires no external components and allows operation from supplies as low as 2.7 V. When the output load exceeds the current-limit threshold or a short is present, the TPS2041 and TPS2051 limit the output current to a safe level by switching into a constant-current mode, pulling the overcurrent (OC) logic output low. When continuous heavy overloads and short circuits occur, the TPS2041 and TPS2051 automatically disconnect the load power, protecting the system.
