LINEAR TECHNOLOGY - LT3475/LT3475-1 User's manual

The LT3475/LT3475-1 are dual step-down 1.5A LED drivers. They are designed to operate as a constant-current source. An internal sense resistor monitors the output current, allowing accurate current regulation ideal for driving high current LEDs. The high side current sense allows grounded cathode LED operation. High output current accuracy is maintained over a wide current range, from 50mA to 1.5A, allowing a wide dimming range. Unique PWM circuitry allows a dimming range of 3000:1, avoiding the color shift normally associated with LED current dimming. The high switching frequency offers several advantages, permitting the use of small inductors and ceramic capacitors. Small inductors combined with the 20 lead TSSOP surface mount package save space and cost versus alternative solutions. The constant switching frequency combined with low-impedance ceramic capacitors result in low, predictable output ripple. With its wide input range of 4V to 36V, the LT3475/LT3475-1 regulate a broad array of power sources. A current mode PWM architecture provides fast transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown provide additional protection.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC3210 MAIN/CAM LED Controller in 3mm × 3mm QFN Manual

The LTC®3210 is a low noise charge pump DC/DC converter designed to drive four MAIN LEDs and one high current CAM LED for camera lighting. The LTC3210 requires only four small ceramic capacitors and two current set resistors to form a complete LED power supply and current controller. Built-in soft-start circuitry prevents excessive inrush current during start-up and mode changes. High switching frequency enables the use of small external capacitors. Independent MAIN and CAM full-scale current settings are programmed by two external resistors. Shutdown mode and current output levels are selected via two logic inputs. The full-scale current through the LEDs is programmed via external resistors. ENM and ENC are toggled to adjust the LED currents via internal counters and DACs. The part is shut down when both ENM and ENC are low for 150µs (typ). The charge pump optimizes efficiency based on the voltage across the LED current sources. The part powers up in 1x mode and will automatically switch to boost mode whenever any enabled LED current source begins to enter dropout. The LTC3210 is available in a 3mm × 3mm 16-lead QFN package.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LT1121/LT1121-3.3/LT1121-5 handbook

The LT1121/LT1121-3.3/LT1121-5 are micropower low dropout regulators with shutdown. These devices are capable of supplying 150mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 0.4V. Designed for use in battery-powered systems, the low quiescent current, 30μA operating and 16μA in shutdown, makes them an ideal choice. The quiescent current is well-controlled; it does not rise in dropout as it does with many other low dropout PNP regulators. Other features of the LT1121/LT1121-3.3/LT1121-5 include the ability to operate with very small output capacitors. They are stable with only 0.33μF on the output while most older devices require between 1μF and 100μF for stability. Small ceramic capacitors can be used, enhancing manufacturability. Also the input may be connected to ground or a reverse voltage without reverse current flow from output to input. This makes the LT1121 series ideal for backup power situations where the output is held high and the input is at ground or reversed. Under these conditions only 16μA will flow from the output pin to ground.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC1174 handbook

The LTC®1174 is a simple current mode DC/DC converter ideally suited for 9V to 5V, 5V to 3.3V or 5V to –5V operation. With an internal 0.9Ω switch (at a supply voltage of 9V), the LTC1174 requires only four external components to construct a complete high efficiency DC/DC converter. Under a no load condition the LTC1174 draws only 130µA. In shutdown, it draws a mere 1µA making this converter ideal for current sensitive applications. In dropout, the internal P-channel MOSFET switch is turned on continu- ously allowing the user to maximize the life of the battery source. The maximum inductor current of the LTC1174 family is pin selectable to either 340mA or 600mA, optimizing efficiency for a wide range of applications. Operation up to 200kHz permits the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitor.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LT1398/LT1399/LT1399HV Manual

The LT1398/LT1399/LT1399HV are low-cost dual and triple 300MHz current feedback amplifiers with shutdown. The LT1399HV is a higher voltage version of the LT1399. The LT1398 is a two amplifier version of the LT1399. The LT1398/LT1399 operate on all supplies from a single 4V to ±6V. The LT1399HV operates on all supplies from 4V to ±7.5V. Each amplifier draws 4.6mA when active. When disabled each amplifier draws zero supply current and its output becomes high impedance. The amplifiers turn on in only 30ns and turn off in 40ns, making them ideal in spread spectrum and portable equipment applications. The LT1398/LT1399/LT1399HV are manufactured on Linear Technology’s proprietary complementary bipolar process. The LT1399/LT1399HV are pin-for-pin upgrades to the LT1260 optimized for use on ±5V/±7.5V supplies.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LT3593 handbook

The LT3593 is a step-up DC/DC converter designed to drive up to ten white LEDs in series from a Li-Ion cell. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents and eliminates the need for ballast resistors. The device features a unique high side LED current sense that enables the part to function as a “one wire current source” where the low side of the LED string can be returned to ground anywhere. Additional features include output disconnect in shutdown, open LED protection and 1-pin shutdown/LED current control. The CTRL pin is toggled to adjust the LED current via an internal counter and a 5-bit DAC. The LT3593 switches at 1MHz, allowing the use of tiny external components. Constant frequency switching results in low input noise and a small output capacitor. The LT3593 is available in the 6-lead DFN (2mm × 2mm) as well as the 6-lead SOT-23 packages.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 handbook

The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 are dual 16-, 14- and 12-bit, 2.7V to 5.5V rail-to-rail voltage output DACs in a 12-lead DFN package. They have built-in high performance output buffers and are guaranteed monotonic. These parts establish new board-density benchmarks for 16- and 14-bit DACs and advance performance standards for output drive and load regulation in single-supply, voltage-output DACs. The parts use a 2-wire, I2C compatible serial interface. The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 operate in both the standard mode (clock rate of 100kHz) and the fast mode (clock rate of 400kHz). An asynchronous DAC update pin (LDAC) is also included. The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 incorporate a power-on reset circuit. During power-up, the voltage outputs rise less than 10mV above zero scale; and after power-up, they stay at zero scale until a valid write and update take place. The power-on reset circuit resets the LTC2607-1/LTC2617-1/ LTC2627-1 to midscale. The voltage outputs stay at midscale until a valid write and update takes place.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC1473 User Manual

The LTC1473 provides a power management solution for single and dual battery notebook computers and other portable equipment. The LTC1473 drives two sets of back-to-back N-channel MOSFET switches to route power to the input of the main system switching regulator. An internal boost regulator provides the voltage to fully enhance the logic level N-channel MOSFET switches. The LTC1473 senses current to limit surge currents both into and out of the batteries and the system supply capacitor during switch-over transitions or during fault conditions. A user-programmable timer monitors the time the MOSFET switches are in current limit and latches them off when the programmed time is exceeded. A unique “2-diode mode” logic ensures system start-up regardless of which input receives power first.
