MAXIM MAX889 High-Frequency Regulated 200mA Inverting Charge Pumphandbook

The MAX889 is a high-frequency, adjustable, 200mA inverting charge pump that delivers a regulated negative output voltage at loads of up to 200mA. The device operates with inputs from 2.7V to 5.5V to produce an adjustable, regulated output from -2.5V to -VIN. The MAX889 is available with an operating frequency of 2MHz (T version), 1MHz (S version), or 0.5MHz (R version). The higher switching frequency devices allow the use of smaller capacitors for space-limited applications. The lower frequency devices have lower quiescent current. The MAX889 also features a 0.1µA logic-controlled shutdown mode and is available in an 8-pin SO package. An evaluation kit, MAX889SEVKIT, is available.

MAXIM MAX6365 MAX6368 SOT23 Low-Power P Supervisory Circuits with Battery Backup Chip-Enable Gating handbook

The MAX6365-MAX6368 supervisory circuits simplify power-supply monitoring, battery-backup control functions, and memory write protection in microprocessor (µP) systems. The circuits significantly improve the size, accuracy, and reliability of modern systems with an ultra- small integrated solution. These devices perform four basic system functions: 1) Provide a µP reset output during VCC supply power- up, power-down, and brownout conditions. 2) Internally control VCC to backup-battery switching to maintain data or low-power operation for CMOS RAM, CMOS µPs, real-time clocks, and other digital logic when the main supply fails. 3) Provide memory write protection through internal chip-enable gating during supply or processor faults. 4) Include one of the following options: a manual reset input (MAX6365), a watchdog timer function (MAX6366), a battery-on output (MAX6367), or an auxiliary user-adjustable reset input (MAX6368). The MAX6365-MAX6368 operate from VCC supply volt- ages as low as 1.2V. The factory preset reset threshold voltages range from 2.32V to 4.63V (see Ordering Information). In addition, each part is offered in three reset output versions: push-pull active low, open-drain active low, or open-drain active high (see Selector Guide). The MAX6365-MAX6368 are available in minia- ture 8-pin SOT23 packages.

MAXIM MAX6351 MAX6360 handbook

The MAX6351–MAX6360 are microprocessor (µP) supervisors with multiple reset voltages that significantly improve system reliability and accuracy compared to separate ICs or discrete components. If any input supply voltage drops below its associated preset threshold, all reset outputs are asserted. In addition, the output(s) is valid as long as either input supply voltage remains greater than +1.0V. All devices in this series have an active-low debounced manual reset input. In addition, the MAX6358/MAX6359/MAX6360 offer a watchdog timer input with a 46.4sec start-up timeout period and a 2.9sec timeout period. The MAX6355/MAX6356/MAX6357 offer an additional voltage monitor input to monitor a third voltage. The MAX6351 features both 3V and 5V active-low push-pull reset outputs. The MAX6353/MAX6356/MAX6359 offer a 5V active-low push-pull reset. The MAX6354/MAX6357/MAX6360 offer a 3V active-low push-pull reset. The MAX6352/MAX6355/MAX6358’s reset is active-low open-drain. All of these devices are offered with a wide variety of voltage threshold levels, as shown in the Voltage Threshold Levels table below. They are available in 5- and 6-pin SOT23 packages and operate over the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range.

MAXIM MAX148/MAX149 +2.7V to +5.25V Low-Power 8-Channel Serial 10-Bit ADCs handbook

The MAX148/MAX149 10-bit data-acquisition systems combine an 8-channel multiplexer, high-bandwidth track/hold, and serial interface with high conversion speed and low power consumption. They operate from a single +2.7V to +5.25V supply, and sample to 133ksps. Both devices’ analog inputs are software configurable for unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/differential operation. The 4-wire serial interface connects directly to SPI™/ QSPI™ and MICROWIRE™ devices without external logic. A serial-strobe output allows direct connection to TMS320-family digital signal processors. The MAX148/ MAX149 use either the internal clock or an external serial- interface clock to perform successive-approximation analog-to-digital conversions. The MAX149 has an internal 2.5V reference, while the MAX148 requires an external reference. Both parts have a reference-buffer amplifier with a ±1.5% voltage- adjustment range. These devices provide a hard-wired SHDN pin and a software-selectable power-down, and can be pro- grammed to automatically shut down at the end of a con- version. Accessing the serial interface automatically powers up the MAX148/MAX149, and the quick turn-on time allows them to be shut down between all conver- sions. This technique can cut supply current to under 60µA at reduced sampling rates. The MAX148/MAX149 are available in a 20-pin DIP and a 20-pin SSOP. For 4-channel versions of these devices, see the MAX1248/MAX1249 data sheet.

MAXIM MAX1393/MAX1396 handbook

The MAX1393/MAX1396 are micropower, serial-output, 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that operate with a single power supply from +1.5V to +3.6V. These ADCs feature automatic shutdown, fast wake-up, and a high-speed 3-wire interface. Power consumption is only 0.734mW (VDD = +1.5V) at the maximum conversion rate of 312.5ksps. AutoShutdown™ between conversions reduces power consumption at slower throughput rates. The MAX1393/MAX1396 require an external reference VREF that has a wide range from 0.6V to VDD. The MAX1393 provides one true-differential analog input that accepts signals ranging from 0 to VREF (unipolar mode) or ±VREF/2 (bipolar mode). The MAX1396 provides two single-ended inputs that accept signals ranging from 0 to VREF. Analog conversion results are available through a 5MHz 3-wire SPI™-/QSPI™-/MICROWIRE™-/digital signal processor (DSP)-compatible serial interface. Excellent dynamic performance, low voltage, low power, ease of use, and small package sizes make these converters ideal for portable battery-powered data-acquisition applications, and for other applications that demand low power consumption and minimal space. The MAX1393/MAX1396 are available in a space-saving (3mm x 3mm) 10-pin TDFN package or 10-pin µMAX® package. The parts operate over the extended (-40°C to +85°C) and military (-55°C to +125°C) temperature ranges.

MAXIM MAX1082/MAX1083 300ksps/400ksps Single-Supply 4-Channel Serial 10-Bit ADCs with Internal Reference handbook

The MAX1082/MAX1083 are 10-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with a 4-channel analog-input multiplexer, high-bandwidth track/hold (T/H), and serial interface. They have high conversion speed and low power consumption. They support unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/pseudo-differential operation. They connect directly to SPI™/QSPI™ and MICROWIRE™ devices with a 4-wire serial interface. They have a hard-wired SHDN pin and four software-selectable power modes. They have an internal +2.5V reference and a reference-buffer amplifier with a ±1.5% voltage-adjustment range. An external reference with a 1V to VDD range can also be used. They can be programmed to shut down automatically at the end of a conversion or to operate with reduced power. When using the power-down modes, accessing the serial interface automatically powers up the devices, and the quick turn-on time allows them to be shut down between all conversions.
