The ZXLB1600 inductive switching boost converter accepts an input voltage of between 1.6V and 5.5V and provides an adjustable output voltage of up to 28V for LCD and OLED bias. The device contains an output switch and a second switch to isolate the coil from the input to provide true isolation in shutdown mode. The output can be adjusted by means of an externally applied dc voltage, a PWM control signal, or external feedback resistors and can supply typically 10mA of output current at maximum output voltage. Higher current is available at lower output voltages. The input voltage range accepts a number of battery solutions, including dual dry cell and single Li-Ion cells and PFM operation mode allows the output to be regulated with high efficiency under light or no load conditions. The switching frequency range permits the use of miniature surface mount inductors. A low battery comparator is provided to indicate when the input voltage has fallen to within ±2% of a preset threshold. This threshold is set internally, but can be adjusted externally to any voltage within the supply voltage range.

ZXFV4089 is a low-distortion video amplifier and DC restoration circuit. It is specially designed to provide brightness level stability as a 'black-level clamp' in video systems with very low distortion and low power consumption. A high fidelity video amplifier is combined with a sample-hold switch circuit using an external coupling capacitor to provide level-shifting of the video output such that a time-gated sample of the waveform is set to be equal to an external reference voltage (usually zero voltage). A buffered TTL/CMOS logic input signal controls the switch. The gain is set externally by two resistors. In a typical application, the sample-hold circuit is gated on during part of the back-porch interval of an analog video waveform. Then the video waveform is stabilised for the remainder of the line-scan interval.

The ZXSC440 is a dedicated photoflash charger, charging an 80μF photoflash capacitor to 300V in 3.5 seconds from a 3V supply. The flyback conversion efficiency is typically 75%, much higher than the commonly used discrete charging circuits. The Charge pin enables the circuit to be initiated from the camera's microprocessor, using negligible current when flash is not being used. The Ready pin signals the microprocessor when the flash is charged and ready to be fired. A small amount of hysteresis on the voltage feedback shuts down the device as long as the capacitor remains fully charged, again using negligible current. Applications include digital camera flash unit and film camera flash unit.
