MAXIM MAX1002 handbook

The MAX1002 is a dual, 6-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that combines high-speed, low-power operation with a user-selectable input range, an internal reference, and a clock oscillator. The dual, parallel ADCs are designed to convert in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) analog signals into two 6-bit offset-binary-coded digital outputs at sampling rates up to 60Msps while achieving typical integral nonlinearity (INL) and differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±1/4LSB. The ability to interface directly with baseband I and Q signals makes the MAX1002 ideal for use in direct-broadcast satellite, VSAT, and QAM16 demodulation applications. The MAX1002 input amplifiers feature true differential inputs, a 55MHz -0.5dB analog bandwidth, and user-programmable input full-scale ranges of 125mVp-p, 250mVp-p, or 500mVp-p. With an AC-coupled input signal, matching performance between input channels is typically 0.1dB gain, 1/4LSB offset, and 0.5° phase. Dynamic performance is 5.85 effective number of bits (ENOB) with a 20MHz analog input signal, or 5.78 ENOB with a 50MHz input signal. The MAX1002 operates with a single +5V power supply and provides TTL-compatible digital outputs. The device is available in the commercial temperature range (0°C to +70°C) and comes in a 36-pin SSOP package.

MAXIM MAX038 Evaluation Kit handbook

The MAX038 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a high-frequency function generator capable of producing accurate triangle/sawtooth, sine, and square/pulse waveforms up to 10MHz, using the supplied components. Output frequency and duty cycle are easily adjusted with on-board potentiometers. Removable jumpers select sine, square, or triangle waveforms, or fix the duty cycle at 50%. The output is buffered with a MAX442 amplifier capable of driving a 50Ω coaxial cable. The MAX038 EV kit is fully assembled and tested.

MAXIM MAX038 handbook

The MAX038 is a high-frequency, precision function generator producing accurate, high-frequency triangle, sawtooth, sine, square, and pulse waveforms with a minimum of external components. The output frequency can be controlled over a frequency range of 0.1Hz to 20MHz by an internal 2.5V bandgap voltage reference and an external resistor and capacitor. The duty cycle can be varied over a wide range by applying a ±2.3V control signal, facilitating pulse-width modulation and the generation of sawtooth waveforms. Frequency modulation and frequency sweeping are achieved in the same way. The duty cycle and frequency controls are independent. Sine, square, or triangle waveforms can be selected at the output by setting the appropriate code at two TTL-compatible select pins. The output signal for all waveforms is a 2VP-P signal that is symmetrical around ground. The low-impedance output can drive up to ±20mA. The TTL-compatible SYNC output from the internal oscillator maintains a 50% duty cycle—regardless of the duty cycle of the other waveforms—to synchronize other devices in the system. The internal oscillator can be synchronized to an external TTL clock connected to PDI.

MAXIM DS4510 handbook

The DS4510 is a CPU supervisor with integrated 64-byte EEPROM memory and four programmable, non-volatile (NV) I/O pins. It is configured with an industry-standard I2C™ interface using either fast-mode (400kbps) or standard-mode (100kbps) communication. The I/O pins can be used as general-purpose I2C-to-parallel I/O expander with unlimited read/write capability. EEPROM registers allow the power-on value of the I/O pins to be adjusted to keep track of the system’s state through power cycles, and the CPU supervisor’s timer can be adjusted between 125ms and 1000ms to meet most any application need.

MAXIM DS4305 handbook

The DS4305 is a low-cost adjustable voltage reference that can be adjusted using automated techniques in the factory. It is used in power-supply calibration, threshold setting, offset nulling, bias adjusting, power amps, pressure bridges and factory-calibrated equipment.

MAXIM DS4303 handbook

The DS4303 is a nonvolatile (NV) sample and infinite-hold adjustable voltage reference. The reference voltage is programmed in-circuit during factory calibration/ programming. Programming the reference voltage, VOUT, is as simple as applying the desired voltage on VIN and toggling the adjust pin (ADJ) to lock the VOUT voltage level indefinitely, even if the device is power cycled. The DS4303 replaces current cumbersome factory adjustment arrangements with a low-cost solution that can be adjusted using automated techniques. In addition, the DS4303 has the ability to be readjusted after the unit has been fully assembled and tested. This results in a much more flexible manufacturing arrangement, lower inventory costs, and a quicker time-to-market.

MAXIM DS4301 handbook

The DS4301 is a single 32-position linear digital potentiometer with 200kΩ end-to-end resistance. The wiper setting is stored in EEPROM, so the DS4301 powers up with the last stored setting. The position of the wiper is controlled through a simple three-terminal increment/decrement interface. The DS4301 is ideal for white LED backlight brightness control. Its 8-pin µSOP package, 2.4V to 5.5V supply range, and 200kΩ end-to-end resistance are especially suited for portable, battery-powered applications such as cellular telephones and PDAs.

MAXIM MAX1909 handbook

The MAX1909 evaluation kit is an accurate and efficient multichemistry battery charger. It can charge three or four series Li+ cells with a current up to 3A. Charge current and input-source current are adjustable using on-board potentiometers. The output voltage is set to 4.2V ✕ the number of series cells in the battery pack. The number of series cells is jumper-selectable. The output voltage is adjustable between 4V to 4.4V (✕ number of series cells) by installing two resistors. The EV kit provides outputs to monitor the AC adapter current and the presence of an AC adapter. The MAX1909 automatically selects the power path for supplying power to the system by controlling two external P-channel MOSFETs. This decision is made based on the presence of an AC adapter.
