LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC3731 Manual

The LTC ®3731 is a PolyPhase ® synchronous step-down switching regulator controller that drives all N-channel external power MOSFET stages in a phase-lockable fixed frequency architecture. The 3-phase controller drives its output stages with 120° phase separation at frequencies of up to 600kHz per phase to minimize the RMS current losses in both the input and output filter capacitors. The 3-phase technique effectively triples the fundamental frequency, improving transient response while operating each control- ler at an optimal frequency for efficiency and ease of ther- mal design. Light load efficiency is optimized by using a choice of output Stage Shedding or Burst Mode operation. A differential amplifier provides true remote sensing of both the high and low side of the output voltage at the point of load. The precision reference supports output voltages from 0.6V to 6V. Soft-start and a defeatable, timed short-circuit shutdown protect the MOSFETs and the load. Current foldback provides protection for the external MOSFETs under short-circuit or overload conditions.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 handbook

The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 are dual 16-, 14- and 12-bit, 2.7V to 5.5V rail-to-rail voltage output DACs in a 12-lead DFN package. They have built-in high performance output buffers and are guaranteed monotonic. These parts establish new board-density benchmarks for 16- and 14-bit DACs and advance performance standards for output drive and load regulation in single-supply, voltage-output DACs. The parts use a 2-wire, I2C compatible serial interface. The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 operate in both the standard mode (clock rate of 100kHz) and the fast mode (clock rate of 400kHz). An asynchronous DAC update pin (LDAC) is also included. The LTC2607/LTC2617/LTC2627 incorporate a power-on reset circuit. During power-up, the voltage outputs rise less than 10mV above zero scale; and after power-up, they stay at zero scale until a valid write and update take place. The power-on reset circuit resets the LTC2607-1/LTC2617-1/ LTC2627-1 to midscale. The voltage outputs stay at midscale until a valid write and update takes place.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC1473 User Manual

The LTC1473 provides a power management solution for single and dual battery notebook computers and other portable equipment. The LTC1473 drives two sets of back-to-back N-channel MOSFET switches to route power to the input of the main system switching regulator. An internal boost regulator provides the voltage to fully enhance the logic level N-channel MOSFET switches. The LTC1473 senses current to limit surge currents both into and out of the batteries and the system supply capacitor during switch-over transitions or during fault conditions. A user-programmable timer monitors the time the MOSFET switches are in current limit and latches them off when the programmed time is exceeded. A unique “2-diode mode” logic ensures system start-up regardless of which input receives power first.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LT1300 Manual

The LT1300 is a micropower step-up DC/DC converter that utilizes Burst Mode™ operation. The device can deliver 5V or 3.3V from a two-cell battery input. It features program- mable 5V or 3.3V output via a logic-controlled input, no- load quiescent current of 120µA and a shutdown pin which reduces supply current to 10µA. The on-chip power switch has a low 170mV saturation voltage at a switch current of 1A, a four-fold reduction over prior designs. A 155kHz internal oscillator allows the use of extremely small sur- face mount inductors and capacitors. Operation is guaran- teed at 1.8V input. This allows more energy to be extracted from the battery increasing operating life. The ILIM pin can be used to program peak switch current with a single resistor allowing the use of less expensive and smaller inductors and capacitors in lighter load applications. The LT1300 is available in an 8-lead SOIC package, minimizing board space requirements. For a 5V/12V output, the LT1300 can be used with two AA batteries or a single AAA battery.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC1690 Manual

The LTC1690 is a low power receiver/driver pair that is compatible with the requirements of RS485 and RS422. The receiver offers a fail-safe feature that guarantees a high receiver output state when the inputs are left open, shorted together or terminated with no signal present. No external components are required to ensure the high receiver output state. Separate driver output and receiver input pins allow full duplex operation. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or faults is prevented by a thermal shut- down circuit which forces the driver outputs into a high impedance state. The LTC1690 is fully specified over the commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The LTC1690 is available in 8-Pin SO, MSOP and PDIP packages.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC2499 handbook

The LTC®2499 is a 16-channel (eight differential), 24-bit, No Latency DSTM ADC with Easy Drive technology and a 2-wire, I2C interface. The patented sampling scheme elimi- nates dynamic input current errors and the shortcomings of on-chip buffering through automatic cancellation of differential input current. This allows large external source impedances and rail-to-rail input signals to be directly digitized while maintaining exceptional DC accuracy. The LTC2499 includes a high accuracy, temperature sensor and an integrated oscillator. This device can be configured to measure an external signal (from combi- nations of 16 analog input channels operating in single- ended or differential modes) or its internal temperature sensor. The integrated temperature sensor offers 1/30th °C resolution and 2°C absolute accuracy. The LTC2499 allows a wide common mode input range (0V to VCC), independent of the reference voltage. Any combination of single-ended or differential inputs can be selected and the first conversion, after a new channel is selected, is valid. Access to the multiplexer output en- ables optional external amplifiers to be shared between all analog inputs and auto calibration continuously removes their associated offset and drift.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LTC1278 handbook

The LTC ®1278 is a 1.6µs, 500ksps, sampling 12-bit A/D converter that draws only 75mW from a single 5V or ±5V supplies. This easy-to-use device comes complete with a 200ns sample-and-hold, a precision reference and an internally trimmed clock. Unipolar and bipolar conversion modes add to the flexibility of the ADC. The low power dissipation is made even more attractive by a 8.5mW power-down feature. Instant wake-up from shut- down allows the converter to be powered down even during brief inactive periods. The LTC1278 converts 0V to 5V unipolar inputs from a single 5V supply and ±2.5V bipolar inputs from ±5V supplies. Maximum DC specs include ±1LSB INL and ±1LSB DNL. Outstanding guaranteed AC performance includes 70dB S/(N + D) and 78dB THD at the input frequency of 100kHz over temperature. The internal clock is trimmed for 1.6µs conversion time. The clock automatically synchronizes to each sample command, eliminating problems with asynchronous clock noise found in competitive devices. A separate convert start input and a data ready signal (BUSY) ease connections to FIFOs, DSPs and microprocessors.

The LT1789-10 maximizes both the input common mode range and dynamic output range when an amplification of 10 or greater is required, allowing precise signal processing where other instrumentation amplifiers fail to operate. The LT1789-1/LT1789-10 are laser trimmed for very low input offset voltage, low input offset voltage drift, high CMRR and high PSRR. The output can handle capacitive loads up to 400pF (LT1789-1), 1000pF (LT1789-10) in any gain configuration while the inputs are ESD protected up to 10kV (human body). The LT1789-1/LT1789-10 are offered in the 8-pin SO package, requiring significantly less PC board area than discrete multi op amp and resistor designs.
