intersil ISL5586 Manual

ISL5586 is a very low power ringing subscriber interface circuit designed for use with the Broadcom BCM3352 Cable Modem Chip, with on-board voiceband codecs, or other 3.3V voiceband codec devices. The ISL5586 provides on board ringing signal generation up to 95V peak supporting sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveshapes with DC offset. Loop start and ground start trunks are supported, and an open circuit DC voltage of less than 56V is maintained on the subscriber loop in the on-hook condition, in compliance with MTU operation and the safety requirements of UL-1950. Together with the Broadcom BCM3352, the ISL5586 provides resistive and complex two wire impedance matching and transhybrid balancing. Also supported are on- hook transmission of caller id signals, soft and hard polarity reversal and 12/16kHz subscriber pulse metering systems used in Europe and Asia, thereby allowing a low cost, low risk, global product design to be achieved.

intersil ISL5585 Manual

The 3.3V family of ringing subscriber line interface circuits (SLIC), ISL5585, supports analog Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) in short and medium loop length, wireless and wireline voice over broadband applications. Ideally suited for customer premise equipment, this family of products offers flexibility to designers with high ringing voltage and low power consumption system requirements. The ISL5585 family is capable of operating with 100V ringing battery supply, which translates directly to the amount of ringing voltage supplied to the subscriber. With the high operating voltage, subscriber loop lengths can be extended to 500Ω (i.e., 5,000 feet) and beyond, allowing this family to serve emerging Fiber In The Loop (FITL) markets. Other key features across the product family include: 3.3V VCC operation, low power consumption, ringing using sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveforms, robust auto-detection mechanisms for when subscribers go on or off hook, and minimal external discrete application components. Integrated test access features are also offered on selected products.

intersil HC55185 Manual

The RSLIC-VoIP family of ringing subscriber line interface circuits (RSLIC) supports analog Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) in short and medium loop length, wireless and wireline applications. Ideally suited for remote subscriber units, this family of products offers flexibility to designers with high ringing voltage and low power consumption system requirements. The RSLIC-VoIP family operates to 100V which translates directly to the amount of ringing voltage supplied to the end subscriber. With the high operating voltage, subscriber loop lengths can be extended to 500Ω (i.e., 5,000 feet) and beyond. Other key features across the product family include: low power consumption, ringing using sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveforms, robust auto-detection mechanisms for when subscribers go on or off hook, and minimal external discrete application components. Integrated test access features are also offered on selected products to support loopback testing as well as line measurement tests. There are five product offerings of the HC55185.

intersil HC5503T Manual

The HC5503T is a low cost Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC) from Intersil that replaces the components of a discrete Transformer Analog circuit design. The monolithic integrated design provides improved performance and system reliability. The HC5503T provides: Current limited DC feed to the subscriber loop, maintains a flat frequency response over the voice band and beyond, has self resetting thermal protection that allows conversation to continue while the fault is present, provides a TTL subscriber off hook indication even in the presence of longitudinal currents, and limits system power consumption on short loops. The HC5503T provides balanced 2-wire transmission and has excellent longitudinal balance, while providing on hook transmission and longitudinal current rejection in both the on-hook or off-hook conditions. The SLIC needs only one +5V supply in addition to the main battery supply for loop current and operates over a range of battery voltages (-24V to -58V). Available in 24SO packaging. The HC5503T is ideally suited as a replacement for discrete line circuits in low cost analog PABXs, small Office/Home Office products or Small Key Systems.

intersil HC5526 Manual

The HC5526 is a subscriber line interface circuit that is compliant with CCITT standards. Enhancements include immunity to circuit latch-up during hot plug and absence of false signaling in the presence of longitudinal currents. The HC5526 is fabricated in a High Voltage Dielectrically Isolated (DI) Bipolar Process that eliminates leakage currents and device latch-up problems normally associated with Junction Isolated (JI) ICs. The elimination of the leakage currents results in improved circuit performance for wide temperature extremes. The latch free benefit of the DI process guarantees operation under adverse transient conditions. This process feature makes the HC5526 ideally suited for use in harsh outdoor environments.
