TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TPS2047 TPS2057 TRIPLE CURRENT-LIMITED POWER-DISTRIBUTION SWITCHES handbook

Update: 30 September, 2023

The TPS2047 and TPS2057 triple power-distribution switches are intended for applications where heavy capacitive loads and short circuits are likely. These devices incorporate in single packages three 135 mΩ N-channel MOSFET high-side power switches for power-distribution systems that require multiple power switches. Each switch is controlled by a logic enable compatible with 5-V and 3-V logic. Gate drive is provided by an internal charge pump that controls the power-switch rise times and fall times to minimize current surges during switching. The charge pump, requiring no external components, allows operation from supplies as low as 2.7 V. When the output load exceeds the current limit, the charge pump enables internal overcurrent protection circuitry which turns the power supply off and generates a logic output signal. Short-circuit protection circuitry turns the switch off rapidly under short-circuit conditions.
