Microchip MCP23016 handbook

This document introduces the MCP23016 from Microchip Technology Inc. It is a 16-bit remote bidirectional I/O port with a fast I2C bus clock frequency. It supports up to eight devices with three hardware address pins. Each I/O port has a high-current drive capability of ±25 mA. It features an open-drain interrupt output, interrupt port capture register, internal Power-On Reset (POR), and polarity inversion register. It is compatible with most microcontrollers.
