ATMEL ATmega6490 handbook

The document describes a high-performance, low-power AVR® 8-bit microcontroller with advanced RISC architecture. It includes 130 powerful instructions, most of which can be executed in a single clock cycle. The microcontroller features 32 x 8 general purpose working registers, fully static operation, up to 16 MIPS throughput at 16 MHz, and an on-chip 2-cycle multiplier. It also has high endurance non-volatile memory segments, including in-system self-programmable flash program memory, EEPROM, and internal SRAM. The microcontroller supports in-system programming by an on-chip boot program, true read-while-write operation, and programming lock for software security. It also has a JTAG interface for boundary-scan capabilities and extensive on-chip debug support. The peripheral features of the microcontroller include LCD drivers, timer/counters, a real-time counter, PWM channels, and an ADC.
