The SSM2315 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, 3W mono Class-D audio amplifier. It features Σ-Δ modulation and does not require synchronization when using multiple Class-D amplifiers from Analog Devices, Inc. It can deliver 3W into a 3Ω load and 1.4W into an 8Ω load at a 5.0V supply with less than 1% total harmonic distortion (THD + N). The efficiency is 93% at 5.0V, 1.4W into an 8Ω speaker. It has a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of over 103dB. The amplifier operates on a single supply voltage from 2.5V to 5.5V and has a shutdown current of 20nA. It also provides short-circuit and thermal protection. The SSM2315 is available in a 9-ball, 1.5 mm × 1.5 mm WLCSP package and has built-in resistors to reduce board component count. The gain setting can be fixed at 6dB or adjusted by the user. It is suitable for applications such as mobile phones, MP3 players, portable gaming devices, portable electronics, and educational toys.
